The Stepping Strong Breakthrough Award provides follow-on funding to previous Innovator Award recipients who have demonstrably met the aims of their Innovator Award-funded project. Each year, the center accepts applications from awardees from the previous three years who seek additional funds to advance their research to the stage where they can compete for larger grants from government and private sources.
Stepping Strong Center leadership works closely with Breakthrough Awards recipients to provide them with strategic guidance, access to the Stepping Strong Center network, and assistance promoting their work.
