The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation hosted the third annual Week of Hope and Healing to raise awareness of the global trauma epidemic and how the center is improving outcomes across the continuum of trauma care from prevention to treatment and recovery.

From April 9 to the 129th Boston Marathon on April 21, the week’s activities explored the impact of trauma from multidisciplinary perspectives, inspiring participants to take action and make a difference in their communities.

Please see below for more details on each event.

In partnership with the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the center hosted a blood drive where we encouraged donors to save lives for patients of traumatic injury and other serious health conditions.

From Heartbreak Hill in Newton to the One Mile To Go Block Party at Kenmore Square, we celebrated Team Stepping Strong as they ran 26.2 miles to support trauma survivors.
